We had a fabulous vacation this year!!  The next few posts will only be pictures!!

TN State softball tournament

Saturday & Sunday we played in the state tournament and finished 2nd!!!  We were so proud of our girls, they did an awesome job!  Although they made us nervous, they lost the first game of the tourney which put them in the losers bracket and we all know what that means.....playing back to back, fighting their way back to the the top.  And they did just that, in true Shelbyville fashion,  our girls played their little hearts out all the way to the Championship game!  However they just couldn't get passed a newly formed team that was put together just to come to the tournament!!  So therefore, Sliders...you will always be number 1 in our hearts!!!

Now that tournament ball is over we will be gearing up for fall ball.  Kaylee moves up to kid pitch, and as she said, "They don't want you to hit the ball Momma like in coach pitch!"  Thats right baby girl, we have no idea what the future holds for you in this sport but whatever... we will support you just as we always have.  We know you LOVE the game and as you tell us in the back yard when we say isn't that enough pitching or aren't you ready to go in, "Practice makes perfect!!"

We will have one more day of celebration with the Sliders in a few weeks when we all load up and head to Holiday World for a fun filled weekend!!  We will sure miss our Slider's family, as it has been a great summer!!!!

July 4th weekend

We got our weekend started off right Friday afternoon.  We loaded up and took a road trip to Chattanooga for.....guess what......SOFTBALL!!!  We had two games Friday night and won them both.  After leaving the fields we headed to Sticky Fingers for some yummy BBQ!  Some of us went to the one downtown while others went to the one right next to the hotel!!  hahaha.....that was hilarious, just a simple lack of communication thats all!  Either way we had a blast, good food and great friends, it just dosen't get any better than that!  We headed back to the hotel ummmm, I mean motel and got ready for bed. Got up Saturday morning headed back to the ball field and won every game that we played up to the championship. Unfortunately, we couldn't pull out the last game and took 2nd.  We were st
ill proud of our girls, I think there was 8 or 9 teams there in our division.

Saturday afternoon we headed home, actually to Nana's to get our KB, wow we missed her!  Thanks to Nana & Papaw for keeping her for us...you two are the best!  Kaylee slpet all the way home and we all crashed as soon as we got home!

Sunday morning we slept in and then just hung out around the house for a little while.  We went to Nana's later in the afternoon for a cookout and some swimming.
