Kris' 35th birthday

Kris picked Hooters this year for his birthday dinner. I am NOT a fan of this place at all and we NEVER go! But I thought well this is what he wants...so be it! The whole way over there Kris is telling me how good their food is and they have the best chicken wings ever! I didn't say anything, just sitting there thinking you know I don't even eat chicken on the bone! {ha!} Anyway my parents went with us and there was not a lot of people there at the time we went. As I looked over the menu wondering what in the world I was going to choke down just to make him happy I saw BONELESS chicken wings. I love Domino's so surly this place had better one's I thought. I must admit when the food came out.....{I hate to even say it} but it was SOOOOO good! Of course when Kris asked if I liked it, I said, "It is ok." Just kidding, I did tell him it was very good food. I still don't think it is a great place to take my girls all of the time and for sure do not want them to think it is ok to dress that way...but it was a fun afternoon never the less.

I was trying to get a picture of the 20 HOT wings and I don't know how many crab legs that my husband was putting away!
Mom told the girls that it was Kris' bday so they made him do this in front of the whole restaurant...act like a chicken! It was hilarious, I still can't believe he did it!

Kaylee said Kara Brooke looked like Popeye!

Happy Birthday honey! I hope you had a great day. Thank you for being such an awesome Daddy!

Kara Brooke's first trip to the ER

Well I knew the day would come but just didn't realize it would come at the age of 14 months. So Monday afternoon Kara Brooke and Kaylee were outside with Kris playing on the swing set. Kaylee & Kara Brooke were coming down the slide and Kara Brooke had her little Crocs on, we are not real sure what happened at that point but I am pretty for sure that her shoe got stuck and with the force of Kaylee behind her we think her little foot turned around backwards. Kara Brooke started screaming and would not put any weight on it all. I had just got dinner on the table and Kris came in telling me what happened. I knew right away that she must go get x-rays, {seeing how Kaylee has turned me into the pro with all of her broke bones}. We got to the Murfreesboro ER at 7:20 and did not leave there until 11:30. All in all Kara Brooke was really good considering she had not had anything to eat and was in pain. After three xrays and a WHOLE lot of screaming the Dr. came in to tell us that he was 98% sure there was not any broke bones but of course there could be a hairline fracture that was not visable. He went on to tell us that it is very hard to break baby bones as they are still really soft. My concern was the growth plate in her ankle {what Kaylee broke the first time} I knew what kind of damage that could cause. Bless her little heart after we got out of there she was so tired and hungry. I did have some baby food in her bag so she ate a little bit of that but was like are you kidding me I eat big girl food! We stopped at Sonic at midnight, she and I both scarfed down a hamburger. Tuesday she would not walk on it at all then yesterday and last night she was doing better, but was still limping and reaching for things to hold on too. It is so sad to watch her though sometimes she will try to crawl but that just makes her mad because she can't get there fast enough. Please keep our baby girl in your prayers that this little foot heals real soon. I tried really hard to post prints of the x-rays because they were too cute but for some reason I can't get them uploaded. Oh well you will just have to settle for this picture!

I am thinking that I will be purchasing this book in the near future.......
.....to help me out with this little cutie face! {trust me looks are deceiving!}
So today Kara Brooke climbed out of her crib and met me in the dining room as I was on my way to get her. I needed to finish up one thing and then I was headed to her room. I guess I took too long and she helped herself! Kris lowered the mattress to the last notch tonight, I'm just wondering how long that will keep our little monkey corralled? Also we ate out twice this weekend for Kris' bday {more to come on that} and KB was that kid that I always looked at the parents and thought do you not hear, see or care what your kid is doing??? Dear Lord, I am sorry that I ever thought those parents were horrible! I am not taking that kid back out in public until she is maybe....4! Oh but Kara Brooke we LOVE you sooooo much even though you do crack up laughing at me after I spank your hand three times in a row!

A night at the fair

Last night we loaded up and headed to the County fair with the Pinkston's!! I must admit I have NEVER been to our fair, just didn't think it was all that or worth the money. Man was I wrong! It was a very good little fair with lots of fun for everyone! Once again I have overloaded you with pictures but if you are like me that is why you visit blogs anyway is for the pictures!
Kris with his funnel cake, I think that was his whole reason for being there!
Kris & Kaylee on top and Ethan & Gavin on the bottom.

Just wanted to let you all know I have back dated and added vacation pictures so scroll down pass the blog hop!

Blog Hop! Sausage Casserole

This week's blog hop is FAVORITE RECIPE! I don't know if sausage casserole is my FAVORITE but we really like it and it is SOOOOO easy! I always have to take it to work on food days we eat it for breakfast. At home I usually serve it with a salad and rolls. Unfortnally I do not have a picture for ya.

1 lb. sausage

8oz. sour cream

1 can of cream of mushroom ( I use celery, don't like mushrooms!)

1 box Uncle Ben's long grain and wild rice (fact cook recipe)

shredded cheese

Scramble sausage and drain. Mix together sausage, sour cream and soup. Cook rice according to directions on the box and then add it. Mix all ingrediants together spread in casserole dish and cover with shreeded cheese. Bake on 350 for about 15 min. or until cheese has melted and edges are bubbling.

It is soooooo good! I am loving the hop today 'cause you know I love to eat!

Vacation 2009

This year we spent a week at "The Wilderness in the Smokies". It was a really, really nice place! I would recommend it to anyone who loves the water. There is two outdoor water parks and then one huge indoor water park. Of course it was right up Kaylee's alley, Kara Brooke came down with a "fever virus" right before we left and so she did not have a very good time at all until the last night. Bless her little heart she was on so much medicine, she was REALLY fussy and wanted to sleep a lot! So we were pretty much on Kara Brooke time and didn't do a lot of things that we had planned on. Oh well Kaylee didn't care as long as she could play in the water and the arcade and maybe get a bite to eat, she was just fine! My parents went with us thank goodness, my Mom was a HUGE help with KB! I didn't take as many pictures as I normally do because well, KB was glued to me, Anyway I have added quite a few so grab a cup of Joe, sit back and relax......ENJOY our trip to The Wilderness!

Kris and Kaylee did the "Sky Flyer". It pulls you up 75 ft. and then drops you swinging you back and forth through the air! I was a nervous wreck watching them do it. Yes, I know I did it when I was a teenager BUT NOT at 8 years old!
Getting suited up.
Up they go!
Kris just pulled the rip cord!
Down they come!
Back and forth, back and forth!

"That was AWESOME, Momma!"

Kara Brooke met a friend.

And she is asleep again. Poor baby felt horrible!
Surf Rider!
This is Kaylee surfing! Actually this first picture is Kaylee wiping out! ha!

Now she has got it!
Of course Daddy had to try it out!
Look at the Pro go!
WIPE OUT!
Our favorite restaurant in Pigeon Forge...Bullfish!

My sweet baby girls!
One morning we got up early and did pottery at the resort. Kaylee LOVED it, so did I! Here is Kaylee's piece.
And Kara Brooke's.
I went back the night before we left all by myself and painted me a piece {they are shipping it to me, hopefully I will have it this week. I will share it with you as soon as it comes in.} I didn't realize what a stress releaver painting could be.
All in all we enjoyed our vacation, espically Kris and Kaylee and would defiently go back there again. Everything was perfect from the towels, sheets, pillows, furniture to the cushions on the chairs by the pool! FABULOUS!
