Sewanee swim meet

Saturday morning we got up at the crack of dawn, dropped Kara Brooke off at Nana's, picked up the McCullough's and headed to Sewanee for a swim meet.  It was a very good start to swim season, I thought all of our girls and boys did great.

After the meet we decided to go find some good local food.  Well we found some local food, don't know if I would say it was good or not but we ate it.  If you are ever in Cowan, TN and you come across Jim Oliver's Smokehouse and trade post, take my advice and keep on going down the road there will be more restaurants!  We did get some fudge though and I guess it was pretty good!  Oh well...we enjoyed the company of our dear friends anyway!  We head to Lawerenceburg next week!

Meet Hollywood!

Sunday afternoon we went over to Kris' dad's for a cookout and swimming. They have an in closed back porch complete with a big screen TV so since Kara Brooke has finally decided to cut her top two teeth and wasn't feeling so great we stayed in there. Of course it is not bright enough in there for sunglasses but KB must have thought so, she kept her shades on for about an hour!

Happy 8th Birthday Kaylee!

Another year has gone by so fast for our Little miss Kaylee.  She is really  changing into a big girl.  She had rather be on the go and at any body's house except her own unless she has a friend over.  She loves her sports; this year she has been involved with basketball, softball, swim team, slow pitch softball rec league and tournament team, gymnastics and will be in soccer this fall.  She absolutely loves every minute of it.  She is so much like me in that she loves to be involved and loves her friends.  She keeps us on the go all of the time.
She had a skating party this year to celebrate and had lots of friends and family there to celebrate.  Thanks to everyone!

Kara Brooke loving Nate, I swear she didn't mean to put him in a head lock.  Bless his heart!

And because as Kaylee said, her birthday party post wouldn't be complete unless..... I mentioned me busting my rear and ending up in the ER!  Oh yes friends, I fell hard, REALLY hard!  I did not hit my elbow but instead tried to catch my self as I fell.  After the party we went to eat and I could not even eat it hurt so bad and continued to swell.  I can not bend it, hold it straight or lift with it.  Two hours, three x-rays and $150 co-pay later the Dr. came in to tell me the good news is, "I don't see anything broke however there is a "fat pad" in the elbow that will not allow us to see on the x-ray and especially with all the swelling."  Are you kidding me?????  So you are sending me home with a maybe broke elbow, a sling, high powerful meds and a referral to an orthopedic doctor!  I am supposed to stay in the sling for a week.  {Will not be happening!}  I am supposed to start trying to stretch it within 48 hours to see if there is anymore range of motion.  Lets all say a prayer that by Tuesday I will be able to move it more!
.....And just in case you needed a visual... here I am trying to get up, Thanks to Kris for being soooo worried....and able to snap a picture! lol
Just for the record, I wasn't the only old person that busted their rear.........

....just the only one that got hurt!
Yes that is Susan on her way back up off the floor!

13 months old

Time hasn't slowed down a bit since Kara Brooke's first birthday!  Here is what she has been up to these days.
1. She understands commands like, go find your cup or your shoes.
2. She dances as soon as she hears music.
3. She can say bite, oeeess (shoes), bye bye, Nana and a whole lot and gibberish!
4.  She still doesn't like to get her face wet in the tub.
5. She is still climbing on everything just a little higher and a little more daring.
6. She will eat anything she can get hands on even though she still only has two teeth!
7.  She is completely off the bottle during the day and only gets a small bottle of Alumentium at night.  She is just about weaned off of the high dollar stuff!  Whoooooohooooo!
8. She can point at things that she wants.
9. She will give kisses when you ask of them but only if SHE wants too!
10. She still has the Adams temper and pushes the envelope on everything.
11. Loves her big sister so much and gets so excited EVERY TIME she sees her!
12. Loves to be outside.  (Good thing since she is always tagging along at the ball fields.)
13 .Loves her baby dolls and real ones too, especially Nate.
14. She knows when she is in trouble or has something that she should not because she takes off running.
15.  She has the funniest sense of humor and laughs all the time.

Softball tournament

Kaylee has had the opportunity to get to play on a slow pitch tournament team this summer. They have played in two tournaments so far, the first one they placed second and this past weekend they placed FIRST! Now they will be moving on to the state tournament in a few weeks. Kaylee is enjoying this competition play so much, she is by far NOT the best player and is one of the 3 youngest on the team and she knows that but it has given her the chance to see what she can do and the opportunity to learn so much! It has been such a wonderful experience for her and us as well.

#1! Wheewho!
