5 months old
Guess who is 5 months old......

Can you believe it, I sure can't! She is growing so fast and learning so many new things. One being this...
She has learned to blow bubbles and SOAK herself, I have finally learned to keep a bib on her.
{notice the bubbles and drool in both pics}
Thursday night we went to parent teacher conference. I didn't really know what to expect since Kaylee got a check mark on her report card for needs improvement on "controls talking". After talking with Kaylee's teacher I learned that all but two children got the same check mark. Mrs. P. had nothing but GREAT things to say about our child...she is very smart, very observant,very caring and on & on....Yeah I could hardly get out of the front doors of the school because my head was so big! :) Also she told us that Kaylee is one of four kids that is in the AR (accelerated reading) program. What is that??? Glad you asked....she has to go to the library pick out a book that has a green dot (that is her reading level), she brings it home reads it and she has to comprehend it, when I think she is ready to take a test on it, I have to sign her "sheet". She goes back to school logs on to the classroom computer, finds her teachers name, her name and enter her 6 digit AR number, then enter the book number, match the title of the book to the author of the book and then begin taking the test. I think that is a lot of steps for a first grader. When we asked her about it she is like,"Yeah Mom AR is soooo easy and I love it!" Great baby girl, I am so glad you love to read! It was so funny yesterday afternoon she was reading the comics in the Sunday paper.
{Excuse the hair in her face}
And while we are talking about this little cutie, I must add that her soccer team won again this past Saturday, they are now 5-0. Kaylee normally plays goalie and she understands that goalie is a very important person on the soccer field and that she doesn't get to score. This week we had a player not there and Kaylee got to play striker and she scored three goals! She was very excited about that but she was more excited that our goalie Taylor O. had a shut out game, that means that Taylor didn't allow any balls past her!! Kaylee said, "Mom I don't think people really understand how hard goalie is, it is harder than scoring sometimes. And Tay didn't allow ONE to go in! She had a shut out game!" I am so proud that she noticed the hard work of others and wasn't just thinking of her 3 goals! Congrats ALS soccer team!
Saturday afternoon we had a chili supper at our house for my Mom's side of the family. We had the best time. The kids played, rode 4-wheelers and when it finally cooled down we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores!

2 new things
Last week Kara Brooke started eating from a spoon. It only took her about 5 tries to realize what was going on. After that, this kid was chowing! It is so funny because you just can't get that spoon to her fast enough, she opens her mouth just like a little bird and if she has to wait too long she will arch that back and kick those little feet.
Tonight Kaylee was playing with her and all of a sudden out of nowhere comes the biggest belly laugh! Oh my goodness it was hysterical and of course she kept doing it. Just a couple of days ago we were talking about how she smiles so big but has never laughed, she would make nosies but never a for real laugh. Here are a few pictures of her laughing, I got some video but again I can't upload it from my Mac. {still waiting on someone to help me with that, possibly Eric P.}

Lots to talk about...
Alright I know it has been awhile so hang with me as we do some catching up...
Two weekends ago was the beginning of soccer season. We played in the preseason tournament and took second place on Sunday afternoon in the championship game. Congrats to Adams Lawn Service U-8 girls soccer team. We actually lost to a team full of Kaylee's friends and as competitive as you all know that I am....it was a hard fought game that we HATED to lose!!! Just kidding...I know half of you reading this has a child on "that red team"!!! hehheheheheh!!! Love ya guys!
Last weekend we started our regular season games with a win. We played again this morning and that was another W for our little girls. So that is 2-0 for the green team!
My long time friend Ashley got married last Saturday in Murfreesboro. It was such a sweet little wedding and we are so happy for her. She and Billy make a great couple....CONGRATS!

On Sept. 16 Kris and I celebrated our 8 year anniversary. He stayed home with KB while I took Kaylee to soccer practice.
Our engagement picture

Kara Brooke went to see Dr. Bradley for her 4 month check up on Wednesday. She tipped the scale at 17lbs. and are you ready for this.......27 in. long........WHEW! Of course she is off the chart on her height and almost off the chart on her weight. She is measuring the size of a 6 month old. She is now going to be eating cereal mixed with fruit from a spoon two times a day. She also said that she could have 4oz. of juice a day if she needed it but try not to start the juice just yet because she don't want her getting use to the juice and not wanting her formula. So today I had to buy size 3 diapers and some Gerber 1st food banana's.....this little girl is just growing WAAYYYY to fast!
And just in case you have not already heard this family........

.....is having a BABY BOY in January!!!!

Kara Brooke's new trick!
Well it is official KB can now roll over from her back to her tummy. So...she was at Mom's playing on her floor mat and Mom walked away from her for a minute and when she came back...taaadaaaaa....Kara Brooke was on her belly up on her elbows looking around. Now she will not lay on her back at all, she immediately rolls over and then gets mad when she is on her tummy. Good thing is her nose seems to drain when she is on her belly. I have been trying to upload video of her but it seems to fail every time. Not sure what is wrong maybe because I use a mac and not a PC. Any ideas on how to get this video uploaded, please let me know.
Hope everyone had a great Labor Day! Bring on Fall! I'm ready for cooler weather, soccer games, football games, Bell Buckle craft fair, Halloween, homemade chili and the beautiful colors and smells!
